Good clinical work, case reports, and often some good research work go unnoticed or published due to lack of time, perseverance, or lethargy on the part of doctors and allied medical personnel! This was very true for Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana. Dr. Jeyaraj and team have realized this and embarked on this noble venture of 'CHRISMED Journal of Health and Research' published from CMC Ludhiana in association with 'Medknow'. This is a pioneering effort and I am sure the world of medical science literature will be enriched by this contribution from CMC Ludhiana.

Christian Medical College, Ludhiana has made significant contribution to health education and comprehensive health care, since its inception in1894 by Dame Edith Brown, as a Medical School for Women. Presently it has five colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Allied Health Sciences imparting undergraduate and postgraduate education. The Alumni and faculty at CMC Ludhiana have excelled in their clinical acumen, research, and outreach work among the masses and worldwide. I am sure this journal which was long overdue, will give the best opportunity for faculty to share their valuable experience, along with their other colleagues.

I also do hope that the quality of papers will get acceptance and recognition in due course.
